There
is always a way for both people to win. If it still appears to you that
for one of you to win the other has to lose, you have not arrived at
the higher solution yet. The higher solution will always be a win for
both people, with both their higher goals being met. To find this higher
solution, first ask yourself, "What are the real issues? What is really
important for me to have?" Question yourself honestly about what you
need to meet your goals. Often you are fighting about one thing when the
issue is something else entirely. Then, work together to find a
solution.
